For a firm, yet comfortable support, the Ashleigh mattress is made up of 12.5 gauge open coil springs and has a wide 3ft6 sleeping surface. Upholstered in a durable woven damask fabric, it benefits from traditional hand tufting to ensure the fillings stay exactly where they should be. Sandwiched between the layers is a 12.5 gauge open coil spring interior; one of the firmest spring systems used in mattress manufacturing. Extremely robust, the unit is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. A thick rod-edge wire is attached to the perimeter of the spring unit. This reinforces the border and allows you to sleep right up to the mattress edge.
